Underground levels have a frantic drum beat, while ghost house and castle levels have a more doomy soundtrack. Levels that require more careful jumping have a more rapid pace in music. Simple platforming levels have a cheery, calypso theme. The music in Super Mario World is set up to be very appropriate for the levels. Sprite scaling when defeating Morton Koopa.
